Winter is coming, and there is bound to be ice and other wintry precipitation. When those days arrive β or really anytime β here is a project to safely do indoors. These icicle baubles are simple to create using minimal supplies and can help spark wonder and cheer as the season turns.

Supplies:
- aluminum foil
- glitter (I used this non-toxic, eco-friendly glitter)
- string or yarn
- glue
- scissors
- paintbrush (or Q-tip)
- plate
- tape (not pictured, but helpful)
Step 1
Cut or tear a square of aluminum foil. Then, cut the edges to form a triangle shape (or a piece of pizza!). Place the shiny side of the foil down.
Step 2
Fold down the top of the foil about an inch, and then fold it down again. This will add bulk and help strengthen the finished icicle.
Step 3
Cut several inches of string or yarn for each bauble and tie into a loop. Finally, tape down the knotted end of the string to the top of the folded aluminum foil so the looped end sticks out of the top.

Step 4
Loosely roll the aluminum foil, starting at the end with the loop of string.
Step 5
Create the shape of your icicle by gently squeezing along its length. Squeeze very gently at the top and more tightly at the bottom. You can also bend parts of the icicle to create an organic-looking shape.
Step 6
To secure the top of your icicle, add glue to the inside flap and gently press.
Step 7
Holding the icicle at the top, dab or brush glue with a paintbrush or Q-tip.
Step 8
Holding the icicle over the paper plate, sprinkle the glitter on as you rotate to cover all sides. Once your icicle is bedazzled to your satisfaction, the paper plate can be folded to form a funnel so you can guide the extra glitter back into its original container.
Step 9
Leave your icicle/s to dry overnight, and then place wherever you may need a little cheer and inspiration. β¨
