I am absolutely shocked to say this, but back-to-school time is upon us yet again. That means there are many back-to-school fairs happening around our community! If you want to connect with other parents or need to grab some free supplies, check out the options below:
Rock the Community – Back to School Edition
Where: Douglass Park, 400 N. Providence Rd., Columbia, MO
When: Saturday, July 27, 2 p.m.-6 p.m.
Head to Douglass Park for fun times with friends and family. This outdoor community event will have a 3 point shoot out along with free backpacks and school supplies.
Harrisburg Baptist Church Back to School Fair
SERVE – Back-to-School Program
Where: Pickup is at 4901 County Road 304, Fulton, MO
When: Sign-ups open from June 15 – July 15
All Callaway County kids deserve to have access to the tools that they need for successful learning, regardless of their family’s income status. Every year SERVE, INC fills backpacks with the basic school supplies needed to start each student’s year off right! You may still sign your kiddos up for a backpack and hygiene kit, even if their school supplies are going to be provided by the school district. Sign up here.
Hallsville Inter-Church Council Back to School Bash
Where: Lemone Building Hallsville Fairgrounds, 500 E Hwy OO, Hallsville, MO
When: August 3, 1:30 p.m.-3 p.m.
Join other Hallsville families for free school supplies, door prizes, snacks and treats. Even if your child cannot attend with you, parents can grab supplies at 2:30 p.m.
Voluntary Action Center Back to School Health Fair
Where: 403A Vandiver Dr., Columbia, MO
When: July 15 – August 30
To be more convenient, this wonderful service has changed from a one-day event to an ongoing service. Children do not have to be present to receive backpacks and supplies.
Community Back to School Bash
Where: 1769 W Ash St., Columbia, MO
When: August 16, 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
Head to the pavilion where the Farmer’s Market is held for the only event this year with haircuts, physicals, shoes, supplies, hotdogs and food boxes.
