Meh Teen Reader Reviews: Books with ★★★ or less

Ugh. It’s fine. Not every book you read will change your life. Not every book on BookTok is earth-shattering. Sometimes the movie IS better. These are all books our readers thought were ok. We’re sharing them in November because it’s probably dreary or whatever. Read these books or don’t. They’re probably better or worse books out there. *shrugs and pulls hoodie over face*

King’s Cage” by Victoria Aveyard

3/5 Stars ★★★

Why did you like or dislike this book? I feel the whole series (Red Queen) had an amazing plot and story. The concept and plot twists were very intriguing. But I also felt like the actual writing wasn’t great, it was just kinda meh. I just didn’t fully connect with all the character’s feelings and emotions or motives for doing things. Although I do feel like it got better through the books.

Two Degrees” by Alan Gratz

3/5 Stars ★★★

Why did you like or dislike this book? I thought it was fine. It was talking about something that needed attention so that was good but it was just written for a younger audience. So although his books support good causes I won’t choose to keep reading them because they do feel like they are written for a young audience.
