This time of year is perfect for some creepy crafts, but if I’m being honest I love all things spooky any time of year! See below for some of our favorite spine-tingling projects. Happy haunting!
Unearthly Upcycled Painting
Supplies
- Old painting
- Acrylic paints
- Brushes
- Water
- Drop cloth
- Apron
- Paper towels
The possibilities are endless with this one! Find an old painting (if you find it in your attic make sure it’s ok to use and that it’s not haunted) or you can thrift one. Then add your favorite cryptid or ghoulie to make your painting super unique! It can help to sketch outlines of your monsters on the painting before you begin or take a picture with your smartphone to map out your design. We painted Mothman and ghosts, but there are lots of examples online including adding Star Wars characters and ships!
Zombify Old Dolls
Supplies
- Old dolls (Barbie, baby dolls, etc.)
- Hot glue
- Exacto knife
- Acrylic paints
- Brushes
- Water
- Drop cloth
- Apron
- Paper towels
This is another craft where you can let your freak flag fly! Before you begin you’ll want to consider your zombie – how long have they been dead, have they been bitten, is it a Romero Zombie or some other type of Walker? Once you have determined that you can begin mutilating … I mean painting your doll. Below is our example, but there is loads of inspo online too.
