After a 3-week public beta-testing period, our new website went live on Sunday night, November 6, replacing the 8-year-old site at www.dbrl.org.
We thank everyone, both staff, patrons and the general public for helping us review the beta version of this site. A total of 855 users visited the beta site with about 75% viewing it from a desktop computer and the remaining number from a mobile device. We welcome any further comments you may have and encourage you to write to us at web@dbrl.org or fill out our online feedback form.
You’ll notice that the site has several new features. There’s a large central search box, three main menus designed to quickly direct you to the most popular services and the new website is responsive, so that it automatically adjusts to suit the screen size of your device. The new search function will help you find all the books, movies and music in our catalog right alongside all the content and resources on our site itself.
We consider this to be the introduction of Phase I of the new site. We will continue tweaking various features as our development team moves into Phase 2. Future development plans include refinements to the search feature’s functionality and design, adding share buttons to blog posts and events, and adding more local content to the Research and Learn section.
