The new Holts Summit Public Library will open its doors Tuesday, March 5 at 3 p.m. in Summit Plaza. People will be able to come in to borrow books, movies and music, and use the public computers and free Wi-Fi.
For now, the library will be open 20 hours a week: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 3-6 p.m., Wednesday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
To increase access to the Library-To-Go lockers, they are moving to the new library location where they will be available 24/7. The last day library materials can be picked up from the lockers at Holts Summit City Hall will be Sunday, March 3. The book drop will also be moved into a space in front of the library.
Many of the services available at the other libraries in the Daniel Boone Regional Library system will also be offered in Holts Summit. The first class will be held Wednesday, March 6 at 3:30 p.m. where people can learn about “Borrowing eBooks and Audiobooks” from the library’s digital collection. “Brick Builders” for ages 5 and older will be held Saturday, March 9 at 10:30 a.m., and children ages 4-8 are invited to come in costume to a “Royal Tea Party” at 5 p.m. on Monday, March 11.
