The Daniel Boone Regional Library (DBRL) Board of Trustees is closer to selecting the library’s next executive director. After conducting a national search, the Ad Hoc Committee has chosen to invite two applicants to be part of the final interview process. Erin Magner, DBRL’s associate director of Public Services, and Robin Westphal, the Missouri State Librarian, are being considered for the position.
The Ad Hoc Committee conducted a national search and received more than 70 applications for the position from all across the United States. The committee selected five applicants to interview. The Ad Hoc Committee along with representation from DBRL staff evaluated the group and narrowed the pool to two final candidates.
Magner and Westphal each toured our four library facilities, met with library staff and went through an onsite interview October 21 and 22. The public was invited to attend an evening reception to meet the two candidates at the Columbia Public Library, Tuesday, October 22, 6-7:30 p.m. Both Magner and Westphal made a presentation Tuesday evening, and the public will be able to complete brief surveys about the two candidates. A final interview with the DBRL Board of Trustees is scheduled for Wednesday, October 30. The board expects to make an announcement in early November.
